Another new Beta build went out this afternoon.
Rising Sun Kick – Kick upwards, dealing (
790%of Attack power) damage, and reducing the effectiveness of healing on the target for 10 sec
- Tiger Palm – Attack with the palm of your hand, dealing (
90%of Attack power) damage. Tiger Palm has an 8% chance to make your next Blackout Kick cost no Chi. Generates 1 Chi.
- Blackout Kick – Kick with a blast of Chi energy, dealing (
335%of Attack power) Physical damage.
Chi Orbit – Every 5 sec, an orb of energy forms, and rotates around you until it impacts an enemy, dealing (
300%of Attack power) damage to all nearby enemies. Maximum 4 orbs.
Chi Wave – A wave of Chi energy flows through friends and foes, dealing [1 * Attack power *
0.500* (1 + $versadmg)] Nature damage or [1 * Attack power * 0.500* (1 + $versadmg)] healing. Bounces up to 7 times to targets within 25 yards.
- Chi Burst – Hurls a torrent of Chi energy up to 40 yds forward, dealing [1 + 1 * Attack power * 2.75 * (1 + $versadmg)] Nature damage to all enemies, and [1 + 1 * Attack power *
2.75* (1 + $versadmg)] healing to the Monk and all allies in its path.
Eye of the Tiger – Tiger Palm also applies Eye of the Tiger, dealing (
150%of Attack power) Nature damage to the enemy and ( 150%of Attack power) healing to the Monk over 8 sec.
Hit Combo – Each successive attack that triggers Combo Strikes in a row grants
1%increased damage, stacking up to 10times.
Invoke Xuen, the White Tiger – Summons an effigy of Xuen, the White Tiger for 45 sec. Xuen attacks your primary target, and strikes 3 enemies within 10 yards every 1 sec with Tiger Lightning for (
66.6%of Attack power) Nature damage.
Rushing Jade Wind – Summons a whirling tornado around you, causing [(
60%of Attack power) * 9] damage over 6 sec to enemies within 8 yards.
Serenity – Enter an elevated state of mental and physical serenity for
10sec. While in this state, you deal 40% increased damage and healing, and all Chi consumers are free and have 50% reduced cooldown.
Whirling Dragon Punch – Performs a devastating whirling upward strike, dealing [3 * (
360%of Attack power)] damage to all nearby enemies. Only usable while Fists of Fury and Rising Sun Kick are on cooldown.
Dark Skies – Increases damage dealt by Blackout Kick by
- Fists of the Wind – Increases damage dealt by Fists of Fury by
Rising Winds – Increases damage dealt by Rising Sun Kick by
Strike of the Windlord – Strike with both Fists of the Heavens at all enemies in front of you, dealing (
1500% + 1500%) damage and reducing movement speed by 50% for 6 sec.

Tornado Kicks – Rising Sun Kick strikes a second time for
What this means
Pretty much everything was buffed with the exception of Chi Orbit, Invoke Xuen, the White Tiger and Serenity which were all nerfed. Chi Orbit‘s nerf makes sense, it was strong enough to be used in all scenarios while requiring absolutely no thought. The nerf Serenity is odd, as it was not the go-to choice to begin with, so further distancing them from the better abilities doesn’t seem to make sense. The change to Invoke Xuen, the White Tiger simply means that damage will remain the same from WoD to Legion.
In terms of functional meaning, these changes put Chi Orbit well behind Whirling Dragon Punch, and possibly Serenity as well, which is where it should be. It’s currently unclear if Hit Combo will pull ahead of Rushing Jade Wind for single target, but likely. It’s also unclear if the buffs to the majority of the abilities will make up for Serenity‘s nerf.
Rushing Jade Wind will move below Rising Sun Kick in the single target priority, and with the huge buff, Strike of the Windlord will move ahead of both to be third behind Fists of Fury and likely Whirling Dragon Punch.
Overall there was a rather significant buff to overall Windwalker DPS.
Once AMR updates to these new Beta changes I will run the sims to see where we stand currently. As usual, I will post my findings. Should take a day or two.
